Decisions, Decisions…

So, it’s time to update the homestead even though our current colors are still somewhat, well, current.

Hubs and I are both on board, still stinging from our move when we realized we’d become that time warp couple…like the ones who haven’t realized that mauve and mallard green died shortly before the Rachel Cut had come and gone.

He keeps things moving (think: a coach with a whistle) and would happily jump in without testing the water.
While I agonize and overthink, he starts taping….everything. Almost the whole house.  🙄  And it’s spring, there’s weeding to do, last year’s outdoor projects to finish, flowers to plant…

(sigh)

We’re leaning towards the beautiful dark greys that I’ve seen all over Pinterest…and the samples we brought home looked great in the areas with all white trim, but once we got to the stairs and foyer, it didn’t work well with the light cherry stained doors or exposed stair ends…

We were very surprised that the in-store favorite, Benjamin Moore’s Oxford Gray, went from hint-of-blue to completely blue on our walls. So now we’re sampling brown grays… I think we’re finding Sherwin-Williams’ appropriately named “Anonymous” to be a front runner.

Our house has a somewhat open floor plan from the front foyer so we’re deciding where to go bold. Last time, as we have a center entrance colonial, we ended up painting the hall, foyer and two front rooms the same color: Valspar Cattail.

I loved the color because even though it was bold (enough for us) we could pair it with nearly any other color… so it was a commitment without making a commitment.

Time to stop complaining…I have paint to wear!

  1. Em ~ a question ~

when we comment, we get a notification by email &

none came for your very first post, “Why I’m Here…”

which, if it means that comment didn’t survive, is why I’m asking ~~~

as that explains why I’m back here in the 2015 stacks, scattering

random remarks and having my own little parties

It contains, really, the main points I hope to convey as I realize

it isn’t exactly normal to show up

to read a person’s blog from the beginning

AND feel an overwhelming impulse to

    comment but

    what can I say you

    inspired me.

    🙂

P.S. People say blogging is dead but they’ll never be right. Where there are writers, there are readers.

    1. Hmm. The comment thing has been a bugaboo I’ve tried to solve all along.

I don’t think, for example, that ppl received notifications that I had responded back to their comments. I keep trying new plug ins to do that and I think the latest one seems to be.
But I hadn’t checked the settings to see if the older posts are included.
I’ll check on that this week…thanks!
