Why I’m Here….

I think I became an “inspiration junkie.”

Maybe you’ve suffered from it: you surreally gaze at DIY and home improvement blogs, websites, Pinterest, etc, gleaning a never ending supply of tips and ideas.

You begin to believe that when everyone else makes their bed, they do it with a Kreg Jig…

Truth is, somewhere along the line I started losing my day scouring everyone else’s ideas online…which made me ask myself, “when did I stop doing my own projects and start only reading about other people’s accomplishments?”

So, I started this little journal as a way to keep myself on track.  Kind of like announcing to the world I’m on a diet so I’ll be more likely to stick to it.  Hmm, we’ll see…

Yeah, I lack discipline.

What else?

I like to try making things, even if “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.”

I have successes and failures, make mistakes, get easily distracted, use too many exclamation points and emojis, can’t make a decision to save my life, love pizza, have trouble picking out clothes for the day, say a prayer whenever I see an emergency vehicle pass by, and am grateful for anytime you visit or comment.

Anything else? Just ask 🙂

See? You said broccoli, but it isn’t.

Is it POSSIBLE to use too many exclamation points or emojis?!

Anyone who says a prayer when they see an emergency vehicle pass is (very) good with me.

I like this Em Time Machine. I like words. I like *your* words. I’m glad there are more of them.

    {{LOOK AT THOSE ARCHIVES!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOHHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!}}

I must ration over time. There’s a pandemic on. Don’t want to run out of Em Words while I’m still rattling around the house, side-stepping quarrels with cabin-fevered teenagers.

I’ve read blogs where, over years, I grew to love the writer simply from their words. Then one day, they decided they *hated* their words and deleted them – All! I’m not nearly tech-savvy enough to use whatever Way Back Machine the internet offers to remedy such tragedies.

What I’m saying is, please don’t delete your blog. I’m not a stalker or serial killer. I promise. I’m a pedestrian mother of three children and four cats. My husband is verifiably cooler than I am but still likes me. And I like him, so Yay. 🙂 I can tell you like your family, too – and I like hearing about them.

All-take-no-give doesn’t seem fair, and I love to read other people’s comments. I comment for fun. I comment when I love what someone wrote.

But I don’t expect YOU to have time to *reply* to my every comment, especially if I get on a read & comment tear. Which to be honest, I sometimes do, especially in bitterly non-sleep wee hours.

I will only say this once. I know you have a life. So please, Live – and don’t feel obligated. You are a free agent. Replies are treats and you don’t have to give them.

(And when you do, I love them, and you still don’t have to give them, and you get the point.)

I like you exactly how you are, the way you blog. Thanks for writing and not squirreling all that fun away. The world needs you.
